I. How to use wire cutters
Cutting metal wires
Place the metal wire between the jaws of the wire cutters, hold the handles tightly and cut evenly to avoid uneven cuts caused by excessive or insufficient force.
For thicker metal wires (such as steel wires), increase the force and ensure that the blade is sharp, otherwise it may be difficult to separate the cut ends.
Cutting wires
The power supply must be cut off first, and live operation may cause electric shock accidents.
After cutting, both ends of the wire need to be wrapped with insulating tape to prevent safety hazards caused by exposed wires.
Application in special scenarios
Ordinary wire cutters (diagonal pliers) are suitable for cutting pins or resin wires of circuit board components, but cannot be used to cut wires or iron wires over 1.6mm to avoid damaging the jaws.
If you need to clamp or strip the wire, you can use the winding jaws or skinning jaws on the center axis of the pliers (applicable to Φ0.5~Φ4 wires).
2. Precautions
Safety protection
Wear gloves and safety glasses during operation to prevent cuts or splashing injuries.
When working at height, choose insulated handle wire cutters with anti-drop rings to prevent the tool from falling.
Tool maintenance
Check and sharpen the blade regularly to keep it sharp to ensure the cutting effect.
Select the appropriate specifications of the wire cutters according to the wire diameter (such as the insulated handle withstand voltage value of 500V or 1000V).
Operating environment
Make sure there are no people or obstacles around to avoid accidental injuries.
When cutting the wire, the wire end should be placed downward to prevent the broken wire from catapulting and injuring people. Key tips: Although the insulated handle wire cutters have a higher nominal withstand voltage value (such as 1000V), they still need to be operated after power is turned off in actual operation. Double protection is safer.
