Combustion spraying is a process that burns fuel (such as acetylene, propane, etc.) with oxygen to generate high temperatures, melts the spraying material (powder or wire) and injects it at high speed onto the surface of a workpiece to form a coating. During this process, the pressure gauge is used to measure the following pressures in real time:
Fuel gas pressure: The supply pressure of fuel gases such as acetylene and propane ensures the stability and temperature of the combustion flame.
Oxygen pressure: Controls the input pressure of combustion-supporting gas, which affects combustion efficiency and flame characteristics.
Delivery pressure of spraying material: The delivery pressure of powder or wire under the action of carrier gas (such as nitrogen, compressed air) directly affects the thickness, uniformity and bonding strength of the coating.
2. Specific use scenarios
Process parameter debugging and optimization
Before spraying, calibrate the pressure ratio of fuel gas, oxygen and carrier gas with a pressure gauge to ensure that the flame temperature and the melting state of the spraying material meet the process requirements (for example, the melting points of different materials need to correspond to specific pressure parameters).
For example, when spraying ceramic coatings, higher flame temperatures are needed and the pressure ratio of oxygen to fuel gas needs to be accurately adjusted (such as the oxygen-to-fuel ratio of oxyacetylene flames).
Real-time monitoring and quality control
During the spraying process, the pressure gauge continues to display pressure fluctuations, helping operators detect abnormalities in time (such as unstable air source pressure, blocked pipelines, etc.) and avoid coating defects (such as pores, cracks, poor bonds, etc.) caused by abnormal pressure.
Example: If the fuel gas pressure drops suddenly, it may cause insufficient flame temperature and insufficient melting of the spray material, forming a rough or loose coating.
Ensure safe operation of equipment
Monitor the pressure of high-pressure gases (such as oxygen) to prevent exceeding the rated pressure value of equipment and avoid safety accidents such as pipeline explosion and equipment damage caused by excessive pressure.
Through the range range of the pressure gauge (such as 0 - 10 MPa), ensure that the pressure parameters are within the safety threshold and comply with industrial safety regulations (such as ISO, OSHA and other standards).
