1. Analysis of conical tip design
Conical geometry: The diameter gradually narrows from the shank end to the tip (the tip diameter is usually less than 12mm) to form a conical cutting surface for easy penetration into narrow spaces or machining conical holes;

Driven by electric mills, pneumatic polishers and other equipment (rotating speed 10,000 - 30,000 revolutions/min), the spiral cutting edge (or grid pattern) on the conical surface is used to grind and mill the workpiece, and precise processing is achieved through tip cutting., the tapered profile can be adapted to grooves or tapered holes at different angles.

1. Metal processing field
Machining conical holes and inverted conical surfaces
Machine conical holes (such as conical pin holes, funnel-shaped guide holes) in metal parts to adapt conical connectors;
Grind the mold cavity and the inverted conical surface of mechanical parts (such as correcting the draft angle of injection molds) to ensure smooth demoulding of parts.
Deep hole and narrow gap grinding
Deburring and chamfer deeply into the bottom of deep holes (such as holes with a length more than 5 times the diameter), which is difficult to reach by ordinary straight-handled files;
Grind the edges of narrow slit structures such as gear grooves and chain guides to eliminate residual burrs (such as tooth root burrs after gear heat treatment).
Shaped structure carving
Engrave words and patterns on metal signs and jewelry (such as silver ornaments and bronzes), and use the flexibility of conical tips to achieve fine line processing;

3. Precautions for use (optimization of safety and efficiency)
Equipment and installation points
Confirm that the size of the tool chuck is 6mm and needs to be tightened during installation to prevent slipping. If vibration is found during high-speed rotation, stop the machine immediately to check the concentricity;
Avoid long-term continuous operations during metal processing to prevent overheating and annealing of high-speed steel (hardness decreases above 600℃).

When processing metal, keep the angle between the tool and the workpiece at 10°-20 °, and move evenly along the conical outline to avoid the tip vertically hitting the workpiece and causing edge collapse;
When carving wood, cutting in the direction of the wood grain can reduce cracking, and the rotating speed needs to be reduced against the wood grain.
Maintenance and loss judgment
When the working head appears obvious wear (such as dull cutting edge, missing tip), it needs to be replaced in time to avoid overloading the equipment due to increased cutting resistance;
After processing, use a wire brush to clean the remaining metal chips or wood chips at the edge to prevent clogging of the cutting groove.
4. The difference from other rotary files
Compared with cylindrical rotary files: conical tips are more suitable for processing conical structures, deep and narrow spaces or scenes requiring precise positioning, while cylindrical files are suitable for large-area polishing of flat or cylindrical holes;
Compared with spherical rotary files: Conical files have stronger tip cutting capabilities and are suitable for straight or diagonal engraving, while spherical files are more suitable for curved polishing or circular groove processing.
