ABS AND BRAKE PRESSURE GAUGE
Item No:MP73040
1. Core role: Accurately measure brake system pressure, covering conventional braking and ABS system testing
This pressure gauge is professionally designed to achieve the following core functions:
Conventional braking system pressure monitoring: Measure the hydraulic pressure of the brake master cylinder and wheel cylinder to determine whether the braking efficiency meets the standard.
Dynamic analysis of ABS system pressure: detect changes in working pressure of ABS pump and pressure regulator, and diagnose abnormal anti-lock function.
Pressure retention test and leak investigation: Locate leak points of brake pipes, brake calipers and other components through pressure retention capabilities.
2. Specific use scenarios
(1) Fault diagnosis of conventional braking system
Brake failure/weakness diagnosis
If the brake pedal stroke is too long and the braking force is insufficient, use a pressure gauge to measure the output pressure of the brake master cylinder:
Under normal circumstances, the master cylinder pressure can reach 80-120BAR when the brake pedal is pressed. If the pressure is too low (such as 50BAR), it may be:
Insufficient brake fluid, worn main cylinder leather cup, and not completely drained air in brake piping.
Check whether the pressure of the four-wheel brake cylinder is balanced (the deviation should be less than 5%). If the pressure of a certain wheel is low, it may be brake caliper stuck, pipeline blocked, or uneven brake pad wear.
Check brake deviation
When braking the vehicle is tilted to one side, compare the brake pressures of the left and right wheels with a pressure gauge:
For example, the left front wheel pressure is 100BAR, and the right front wheel is only 80BAR. It may be that the right front wheel brake hose ages and expands, resulting in hydraulic pressure attenuation.
brake system maintenance
After replacing the brake master cylinder and brake caliper, use a pressure gauge to conduct a pressure maintenance test: maintain the pressure of 100BAR for 30 seconds, and the pressure drop does not exceed 5BAR is qualified to avoid braking failure due to poor sealing.
(2) Special testing of ABS system
ABS fault light is on/function fails
When the ABS system works abnormally (such as wheel locking during emergency braking), detect through the pressure gauge:
ABS pump output pressure: During normal operation, the ABS pump will adjust the pressure at a high frequency (such as periodic fluctuations of 10-150BAR) under anti-lock conditions. If the pressure is constant and does not change, it may be a pump motor failure or a stuck solenoid valve.
Working status of pressure regulator: During the "pressure-depressurization-boost-boost" cycle of the ABS solenoid valve, the pressure gauge should display the corresponding pressure fluctuations. If the pressure is abnormal at a certain stage, the solenoid valve fault can be located (such as internal leakage of the ABS module).
Dynamic Pressure Analysis of ABS System
When simulating emergency braking (such as a drum test bench), synchronously record the pressure gauge data and the ABS control unit signal to verify whether the pressure adjustment frequency and range of the ABS system meet the standard (such as 5-10 pressure cycles per second).
(3) Brake system performance optimization
Brake pedal free stroke adjustment: Combined with the pressure gauge readings, accurately adjust the brake pedal stroke to ensure that the master cylinder output pressure is within the optimal range (for example, the pressure reaches 50BAR when the pedal is depressed for 1/3 of the stroke).
Modification of brake system debugging: After upgrading high-performance brake calipers or increasing brake discs, use a pressure gauge to verify whether the brake pressure matches to avoid overheating or locking of the brake due to excessive pressure.
(4) Multi-vehicle adaptation and portable design
Accessory compatibility: The pressure gauge kit contains a variety of connectors (such as M10×1, G1/8) and adapter ports, which are adapted to the brake system pressure taps of different models (such as original interfaces such as Volkswagen, Toyota, and Mercedes-Benz).
Digital type and pointer type selection: The digital pressure gauge can display the pressure value in real time and record the peak value, while the pointer gauge is convenient to observe the pressure fluctuation trend and meet the needs of different detection scenarios.
3. Extended value: safety testing and regulatory compliance
Motor vehicle safety annual inspection assistance: During the annual inspection, verify whether the vehicle brake system pressure meets national standards through the brake pressure gauge (for example, GB 7258-2017 requires that the brake line pressure is stable).
Accident vehicle maintenance verification: After a collision accident, check whether the brake system pressure is normal to avoid secondary accidents caused by hidden pipeline deformation or component damage.
